Do you have a brilliant idea for a handmade gift?

Perhaps you hand-produce something fantastic already?

Do you dream of making your living from your craft?

Then you absolutely must enter this competition! We're looking for the best hand-made gifts in the UK. And, we are giving away £1500 worth of prizes to the best entry.

What's this competition about?

We want new suppliers of quality, hand-made presents for our range and, we're holding a competition to find the best. The winner will receive £500 cash to invest in their businesses plus guaranteed orders worth £1,000, not to mention free publicity and advice and the security of an ongoing business relationship.

We hope this competition will encourage talented individuals to contact us. Maybe it will even entice a few hobbyists to take the plunge and follow their dream.

Contestants are invited to make a sample gift (or range of gifts) and photograph it, then send the image to Pressies4princesses along with their written sales pitch for the product.

What gifts should you enter?

All gifts hand-made in the UK by the contestant are eligible. Personalised gifts are permitted but other one-off items will not be considered. Your gift cannot be a 'one-off'; it must be something that can be catalogued and sold on an ongoing basis as either a stocked or made to order item. We are looking for exciting, unusual gifts, so creativity is important. Your gift should be relevant to pressies' shoppers, men and women buying for women. No gifts for men or children or pets. New baby gifts are welcome as these are usually more appreciated by the mother than the child! You can find examples of our handmade gifts here.

How to enter

Your entry should include the following:

  • A good quality photograph or digital image. Remember this image needs to sell your entry to the judges and in the public vote, so spend sometime getting it right.
  • Your sales pitch. A hundred words telling us who would buy your gift for whom and why.
  • The retail price. How much you anticipate shoppers paying for your gift.
  • The trade price. How much you expect to be paid for your gift.

Entries must be received on or before 29 February 2008.

How will the winner be decided?

All entries will be considered and shortlisted by the buying team here at pressies4princesses. Shortlisted entries will be put to an online public vote on or before 31 March 2008 and the winner will be announced week commencing 28 April 2008. Prize money and orders will be received within 28 days, subject to mutual agreement.
