Here's a summary…Pure perfume 15-30% concentration of perfume essence and is the strongest fragrance available. Use less and the fragrance lasts longer, typically for up to 6 hours, depending on skin type. Parfum De Toilette Between a perfume and an Eau De Parfum in strength. Eau De Parfum Lighter than Perfume. 8-15% concentration. Less expensive but still long lasting -- 3 to 5 hours. Eau De Toilette Lighter more delicate fragrance. 4-8% concentration of essence. Most suited to daytime use. Less expensive than Eau de Parfum. Lasts for 2 to 4 hours. Eau De Cologne Also just called "Cologne". Greatest dilution of fragrance. 3-5% concentration. Lasts approximately 2 hours. Bath timeThere is a growing range of exclusive handmade and natural bath time gift boxes and gift sets available. It's no longer a cottage industry though, as brands like Neals Yard become widely available and highly desirable. The only question to ask yourself is: has she got a bath?!Moisturisers......balms and clarifying, hydrating, nourishing or associated creams are basically all designed to do the same thing: protect her skin from the rigours of daily life. Can be ridiculously expensive, so she would probably thank you for buying these. Avoid anything overtly labelled anti-ageing or wrinkle as a gift for obvious reasons!Shampoo...and haircare don't make the most exciting gifts. It's too much an everyday item, unlike other bath time gifts like bombs and foam. Plus, washing your hair isn't really an indulgent experience. Look elsewhere for your gift.Facials, manicures......massage, consultations and the like are the kind of extravagance that's unlikely to feature in her weekly routine. That makes them a great gift, so long as you choose carefully. Find a boutique or somewhere a bit special to increase the impact of your gift -- wandering off the high street into your local branch of Boots just isn't the same somehow.FitnessIf your girl's beauty regime includes fitness, well that opens up a whole load more gift options. How about trendy exercise clothes or kit such as bags, an MP3 player, gym membership, or personal trainer sessions as gifts?Beauty experiences...are perhaps the ultimate pampering gift. I mean every girl wants to say “the Sanctuary -- yeah, been there, done that.” There are so many great packages to choose from, all of which are reassuringly expensive.
