What gift to buy then?

This is the toughest part -- deciding on the garment and the brand. Here are some hints to lead you to an inspired gift:

When is she going to wear your gift?
- Curled up with the papers on Sunday morning (try Shorties and a Camisole)?
- Under evening wear on special nights out (try stockings, suspender, bra and thong)?
- When she's travelling (try a Chemise)?
What is her style?
- Traditional -- go for lace. Try Rigby and Peller.
- Trendy -- go for modern fabrics and less fussy styles. Try Bodas or Moschino.
- Young/ carefree -- try Calvin Klein or Passionata.
What is her bedroom personality?
- Adventurous -- try one of the more adventurous outfits like a Teddy or Basque.
- Conservative -- Avoid red and consider lace, with french knickers.
- Flirty/ playful -- more revealing fabrics or styles might be appropriate.
- Confident -- try the full monty of stockings, suspender, bra and knickers in red.

Right, there is no excuse for getting this wrong -- and whether the gift is too big or too small you'll be in trouble.

A woman's logic says: too big = he thinks I am huge;
too small = he would like me to be thinner!

Get rummaging!

You need to find out what size SHE buys. You need access to her underwear draw. Pick out some things you've seen her wear recently and check the sizes on the labels. What you are looking for:

Bra -- It has two measurements. A number (eg 34) and a letter (eg B). The number is her chest size (circumference) and the letter is her cup size. You must match both!
Chemise / Body / Camisole / Teddy -- These are usually sized in normal dress sizes (eg 10, 12, 14). Anything like a dress, jumper and some tops will reveal the right size for these garments.
Knickers / Suspenders / Briefs / Shorties -- Again sized in normal dress sizes (eg 10, 12, 14).

Finding this information really shouldn't be that tough, though be sure to get sizes from clothes she still wears.

Finally, don't spoil your gift

Right, you've got a gift she'll adore in the right size, now don't blow it on the presentation!

Make a good job or wrapping your gift. Use plenty of bows and ribbon and decent wrapping paper.
Give it properly. Don't apologise first. Don't instigate a guilt trip over its cost or boast about it and don't say that the woman in the shop thought you would like it!
Leave her in no doubt that you chose it and are giving it because you love her.
