Privacy and data protection policy
To place an order, we need your name, address, contact telephone number, email address, credit / debit card number and card expiry date. It is not possible to process your order or notify you of acceptance of your order without this basic information. An address is required for cardholder identification which helps to reduce online fraud and, of course, we need to know where to deliver your gifts. Your email address and telephone number allow us to confirm your order in writing (which we are legally required to do) and inform you when your gifts have been despatched. We take a telephone number too in case we need to contact you urgently or there is a problem with your email address. This information may be passed to our delivery partners. Your credit / debit card details are collected and processed by our secure payments system provider, SecureTrading. Safety and Security Of Your Information Our payment services are provided by SecureTrading– an industry leader – who use the latest Secure Socket Layer technology to ensure your payment information is handled securely. Unlike many websites, we don't require you to register before purchasing items. We only collect and process your personal data as and when required to complete an order. Or, if you choose to make a Wish List, your email address will be stored in a private location on our server computer and in a cookie on your computer. We also follow a tight security procedure as required under UK Data Protection Legislation (the Data Protection Act 1998) to protect the information that we store about you from unauthorised access. We do not share information with any third-parties for marketing / selling purposes. The only information shared with our trusted partners is that necessary to fulfil your order and make delivery. Marketing You can actively subscribe to services designed to keep you updated about developments at pressies4princesses.co.uk via email. We never automatically add your email address – you have to opt-in, rather than opt-out. You can unsubscribe from any of these services by replying with a blank email. We do analyse visits to our site, so that we can see which pages are the most and least popular. This enables us to improve the website and enhance your shopping experience. However, all the analysis is anonymous – we do not attribute browsing activity to any individual. We keep track of how many people use this website and which pages are most popular – as most websites do through their server access logs. Don't worry, we're not spying! Our data doesn't tell us who you are, just how many people have visited what pages. Internal Confidentiality Access to Customer information is limited on a 'need to know basis'. Your Rights If, for any reason, you are unsure about the information we are holding in your name, please contact our customer service team in writing. We will happily give full details in writing of any information held about you. Use of 'Cookies' Our cookies are only used to make tasks you do at pressies4princesses.co.uk easier – like shopping, or making a Wish List or Gift Box. Our cookies do not contain personal information (except an email address, if you use the Wish List facility) and are not available to other websites or companies.
