A Surprise Gift Guide

What exactly do you mean by surprise gift? I mean, a gift can be a surprise for two reasons:
-
It's a surprise because she isn't expecting anything at all.
-
Or, perhaps you want to surprise her with your choice of gift?
Of course, it could be a bit of both! Let's call the first the Total Surprise and the latter the Surprise Choice.
Needless to say, I think I can help you out with both.
Surprise her with a gift when she doesn't expect one or with an unexpected choice of gift
A gift out of the blue -- when she is not expecting it -- is one of the easiest gifts to buy.
You really can't go wrong when buying this gift.
I mean, she is going to be delighted by the thought, whatever the actual gift.
But, why settle for the run-of-the-mill when you're already on to such a winner?!
Whatever effort you put into choosing this gift is going to be magnified 100 times in her mind.
Reap the maximum brownie points from your surprise gift -- and hard earned cash -- by astounding her with your choice of gift too.
Look, it's less hassle than it seems, OK -- not least because she is going to be desperate to love it. Our birthday present for her gift guide tells you how.
The Total Surprise gift could be virtually anything and she would love it, but why not push home your advantage?
OK, don't forget that there is surprise choice, bad as well as surprise choice, good.
It can be a surprise because it's from out left field somewhere (and that could be a good or bad gift) or because it's surprisingly apt and you haven't exactly got a track record for that!
Not all surprises are welcomed. Make sure yours is.
Coming from way out left field with your gift is a high risk strategy. Are you prepared for the stunned silence reaction or worse?
You've also got to consider whether such a gift has potential to offend.
The best gifts of this kind are actually more obvious than immediately apparent. Base it on stuff you know about the recipient.
-
Does she have any ambitions and/ or desires?
-
Does she have any interests, favourite popstars or bands?
-
Is there a place she has always wanted to visit or one you could revisit?
-
How does she spend her spare time now. What sort of things does she enjoy?
-
The last time she really enjoyed herself, what was she doing?
-
Can any of her friends advise you?
Once you think you've found your surprise gift, ask yourself why SHE would like it.
If you can't think of any clear reasons, think again! Trying running your gift idea through this checklist...
-
Is she likely to take up a new interest or hobby?
-
Will she see the funny side of the joke or be offended?
-
Does she like new experiences or does she prefer to stick what she knows?
-
Is she a physical person or does she prefer a relaxed life?
-
Does she have any phobias, medical problems or strong dislikes that are going to stop her enjoying your gift?
-
Are you sure she hasn't already got one (hidden away, unused somewhere) or had a go and disliked it?
OK, enough procrastination. Perhaps all you really need are some ideas?
-
Whisk her away for a romantic weekend.
Book a cottage in the UK or Ireland or character hotel. Arrange for a love token or keepsake to be on her bed for when she gets there.
Take a champagne balloon flight or organise other activities especially for her.
-
Arrange a swanky night out in town. Take her to the theatre. Book a chauffeur-driven car for the night. Buy some special handmade jewellery or lingerie for her to wear for the evening.
-
Buy her one of the numerous little cute message gifts. Gifts with messages.
-
If she's a chocoholic, why not send some of our fabulous handmade chocolates?

Or, how about surprise flowers from our range of Next Day Flowers?
-
Why not leave a little surprise gift under her pillow? How about jewellery or lingerie?
